The Virginia Chili, Blues, n’ Brews Festival is slated to kickoff September 23, 2016 from 2:30 pmto 9 pm in downtown Waynesboro. Tickets are just $15 for general admission, $30 for GREEN VIP which includes Reserved Seating and Express Beverage service, or $50 for the RED VIP ticket which includes Reserved Seating, Express Beverage service, personal waitstaff, and an artist meet and greet. Tickets can be purchased online on the event website up until Friday the day before. Friday, is also the date of a Blues concert at the historic Wayne Theatre, an event partner, featuring Big Bill Morganfield, son of Muddy Waters. The concert is set for 8 pm and tickets are $20 and $25.
For chili lovers there is an amazing cook-off challenge that features more than $2,000 in prize money. First place will win $1,000, 2nd place will win $500, 3rd place will win $500 and the Best Spicy Spirit award winner will win $250. Pros and amateurs are welcome to register to be a chili competition contestant and enter their secret chili recipe. The festival Blues headliner is Lil’ Ed and the Blues Imperials and the event will also feature bands such as The Bush League, and Anthony Rosano and the Conqueroos. The festival will feature brews from microbreweries and large scale operations including these that will be on tap: Blue Moon Belgian, Blue Moon Harvest, Champion, Coors Light, Seven Arrows, Smith & Forge Cider, and Stable Craft Brewing.
