This 2-lake recreation area includes beaches, bathhouses, areas for swimming and fishing, and plenty of hiking trails with great views. The lower lake is 24 acres, and has great access for swimming, fishing, picnicking, and enjoying the outdoors. Many of the activities even have handicap access. The elevation is 1,900 feet in the Blue Ridge Mountains.
Although campsites are available on a first come basis, the closest cabins are privately owned only one mile away at Cabin Creekwood.
Sherando Lake is located 11 miles south of I-64 off state Route 664 in the George Washington National Forest.
