Upper and lower Sherando Lake combine to make up the Sherando Lake complex that fishermen love. You'll find well stocked areas in both, and a variety of wild and stocked trout including rainbow trout. Families love the trails of Sherando Lake because they are not challenging and you can bring along smaller children and know that you won't have to deal with thick brush and narrow passageways to get to some great fishing.

Sherando Lake is also stocked with bass and their numbers have climbed with each season. On the upper Sherando Lake there are 2 family fishing piers that are a haven for kids. Each summer evening you'll find kids of all ages fishing for trout and bass from the piers. Just past the piers are some great trails that lead into the woods and along the small creek that feeds the lake. Many times you can find a secret fishing hole or two along this creek, especially after a nice rain.
