As always, we had a wonderful family vacation here at Cabin Dogwood. We relaxed a lot this week: that’s what we had planned to do mostly.
We took our annual trip to Wintergreen Winery for wine-tasting. Our new tradition now is to stop at the Blue Ridge Pig for a lunch we crave all year long. But rather than eat it there, we take it to Wintergreen Winery, purchase a few chilled bottles of wine, and share lunch next to the creek at the winery. That makes for a wonderfully memorable afternoon. (We highly recommend the Apple wine with any sandwich from the Pig.) Wintergreen has picnic tables under shady trees, and they even lend out wine glasses for lunch.
Our week just wouldn’t be complete without a trip to our favorite antique mall in Stuarts Draft, and then a stop at Dairy Queen.
It’s always nice to spend this time together and catch up on each other’s lives and reminisce. So many happy memories… And so our longed-for week at the cabin has come to a close. One more night of sweet dreams in the king-size bed.
We hope that everyone who stays here acquires as many fond memories as we do.
Good bye, little Cabin in the Woods…
